Australien-Bericht Nr. 5

This weekend was amazing.

Zoe, her mum and I spent time in Sydney. We wanted to go to Melbourne, however there were no free hotels. 

Our trip started on Friday morning. We skipped school that day. That's O.K. in Australia. After we left the house at 8 o'clock, we went to Albury Airport. From there we flew to Sydney. Our plane was very small and there were only three chairs in a row. That was pretty cool.

We arrived in the late afternoon and went by a taxi to our hotel. Our hotel was in the downtown. That was very practical.

        Then we went to the Opera House

















and saw the Harbour Bridge. We had a tour there. It is a really big building and I love it because it is so splendid.

After this experience we went shopping in Westfield Shopping Street. The shops look like the shops in Germany. They are not too much different. In the evening we went out for dinner to a restaurant.




And so ended the first day in Sydney.

 













On Saturday morning we had breakfast first. After that we met a friend of  Zoe's mum.
He showed us how to surf.
He picked us up at 10 o'clock and drove us to Bondi Beach, a very famous beach to surf in Sydney. Once he had shown us the basics, we went out to the sea and started to surf. That was the first time that I surfed and it is easier than I thought. We had so much fun at the beach.

After we had finished that we went shopping again and spent time at Westfield for the rest of the day.

Subsequently we had dinner there and went home to the hotel.

After we had had breakfast the next day, we went to a big market where you can buy everything. Next we went through China Town, which is a part of Sydney. There are only Chinese shops. When you walk there you feel like you are in China. That's pretty cool. After lunch we went back to the hotel, got our suitcases and went by taxi to the airport to fly home. Late afternoon we arrived in Albury and went back to Bright. That took us another hour.

And so ended an unforgettable weekend...
